Topponcino
Prep & Care

What an exciting time! Your new little one is either on the way, or just arrived. Here are a few steps you can take to ensure your Topponcino is ready.

How to Prepare Your New Topponcino

To properly prepare the Topponcino and to create the easiest transition for your baby, it is highly recommended that, before your baby is born, you:

Step 1: Wash It

Remove the cover and wash it with a load of your family's own clothes.

Step 2: Cuddle It

Sleep with it in your bed for as long as possible before your baby is born.

Step 3: Pack It

Don't forget to put it in your labor bag! Best if used straight from birth.

By adding the cover to a load of your clothes, you will begin the acclimation process, allowing the Topponcino to absorb your family's unique smells. It is best if you use the same exact soaps you plan on using after your baby is born so they will associate with that as well.

Similar to washing it with your own clothes, sleeping with it will allow the Topponcino to absorb the smell of you, the baby’s family, and comfort your child with your familiar scent. Anywhere you have it in your bed will have your smells. Families have used it under their pillow, in their pillow case, in-between their blanket/sheets, down by their feet, in-between them and their partner, rolled up to support their leg or belly. The best way for you to sleep with it is whatever way is most comfortable for you!

How To Clean Your Topponcino

Cover
It gets softer over time! Machine wash cold with like colors. Tumble dry low. Cool iron, if desired.

Insert
All our Topponcinos are now 100% machine washable! Just make sure NOT to use too much heat. Machine wash cold with like colors. Tumble dry low. Do not iron.

Quick Cleaning Tip!

Topponcinos are absorbent by design and may hold on to excess water while washing. If needed, wash with a higher spin speed, or roll the pillow in a clean bath towel and squeeze out excess water between washing and drying.
